Our puppy growth calculator applies the following equation:
Puppy weight divided by puppy age in weeks equals 52 for adults.
Why 52?
52 is the number of weeks in a year. When your puppy turns exactly one year old, we program the dog size predictor to provide us with his weight.
Because it takes dogs on average 12 months to reach adulthood, we used this value in our puppy calculator. For smaller breeds, this value is 8 months, while for larger breeds, it is closer to 16 months.
